timber carcassing

Carcassing is one of the most commonly used forms of processed timber. Travis Perkins imports an unusually wide range of sizes and lengths direct from sawmills in Scandinavia and the Baltic States. Stock items include 300mm x 300mm through to 19mm x 38mm with lengths ranging from 2.4m through to 7.2m.

Each branch carries a comprehensive stock and will supply house sets, joists, roof timbers and studwork to your requirements.

The majority of carcassing imported by specialist timber branches is kiln dried and graded at the sawmills to BS4978 strength classes C16 and C24. However more complex construction projects may require special graded and TRADA Certificated Visual Stress Grading services are available across the branch network.
